Thank YouTo all of our generous and wonderful contributors to Futures and Options’ fall fundraising events, we send our most sincere thanks! This year with your fantastic support, we successfully launched both Dream Big – A Celebration of Opportunity and The Opportunity Card!  These events collectively raised  more than $230,000 – a new threshold for us  – and make it possible for Futures and Options to open its door to more New York City youth who deserve the “opportunity” to successfully launch their education and career dreams!

Many thanks for your support and best wishes to you for a Happy Thanksgiving!

Our 2011 Annual Report is Here!

2011 Annual Report

Futures and Options 2011 Annual Report is the best way to see highlights of our mission at work.

We are excited about this year’s report because it focuses primarily on the young people in our career development programs.  Please take a minute to learn about Futures and Options through the eyes of our youth, alumni and partners – the report is easy to read, has excellent photos and tells the Futures and Options’ story of connecting young people to opportunities that impact their futures.

Check it out here.

If you would like to receive a copy of our annual report, please contact us at 212-601-0002 or email Serena Handley.

Welcome Our New Team Members Joanna and Matt!

Joanna Munoz and Matt Ellis joined the Futures and Options team this October to help coordinate and manage our growing career development and college guidance programs.

Joanna Munoz

Joanna Munoz graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Labor Relations and work experience in Human Resource Management. She spent the last two years as a Special Education teacher in Philadelphia through Teach For America, an organization that recruits college graduates to teach in under-resourced schools throughout the country. Joanna recently completed her teaching commitment and Master of Special Education before moving to New York in search of different ways to work in youth development. She was soon connected with Futures and Options and is happy to be part of our team.

Matt Ellis

Matt Ellis graduated from Boston College with a degree in English, earned his Master of English Education at Lehman College and is currently pursuing a Master of Higher Education Administration at Baruch College. He joined Futures and Options after working for six years as an English teacher at a public high school in The Bronx.  Matt enjoys working with youth and is excited to work with our interns and help them develop the skills and confidence they need to contribute at their internship.
