The Futures and Options College Guidance Initiative provides workshops that increase interns' awareness of the opportunities available for post-secondary education and assist them in successfully applying to college. Students acquire, according to their grade level, a thorough knowledge of post-secondary education options and the steps involved in the research and selection process. Participating students have the opportunity to learn from each other, share their individual experiences with their peers and receive college guidance materials. Students also receive one-on-one counseling.
Who can attend? High school juniors may attend four workshops during the year that cover scholarships for college, financial aid for college, college research and the college application process.
High school seniors may attend six workshops during the year that cover applying to college, college scholarships, FAFSA and financial aid, making the right choice for college, freshman 101 and careers and majors.
