Nell Schwed
Nell Schwed joined Futures and Options in January 2019. Nell is currently the Website Redesign Project Manager, leading the organization’s website redesign and project management efforts. Previously, she was the Development & Communications Manager. Prior to Futures and Options, Nell worked as a tutor for Cambridge Coaching, a Communications Manager and Associate Editor/Writer for US Squash, a nonprofit for the sport, and its in-house publication Squash Magazine.
Nell attended Wesleyan University where she double-majored in Art History and English, graduating with honors for her creative writing thesis. She went on to earn a Masters of Fine Arts from Columbia University’s MFA program in Fiction. She has taught throughout her educational career, including through Columbia Artists/Teachers (CA/T)—a program that places MFA students in New York City high schools—and Columbia University’s Pre-College Summer Program as an Advanced Creative Writing Workshop instructor. As a native New Yorker, Nell is excited to work for an organization that prioritizes the city’s youth and their opportunities for career advancement. In her spare time, Nell enjoys exploring art museums, playing squash, and working on her writing.
