Nadia McKinney

Nadia joined Futures and Options in February 2022. As a Program Coordinator, Nadia is responsible for planning and facilitating career readiness workshops. Nadia has experience in advocacy, community development, and event planning for various communities, such as women, the LGBTQIA community, and youth. Prior to joining the team, Nadia worked as a research coordinator at Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, providing health education to youth and conducting HPV research. As the founder of the NYC Chapter of Platform Women, Nadia created events centered on empowering women and femmes to utilize their stories for social justice advocacy. Nadia also has experience developing educational events for the McNair Research Scholars Program and working at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Center, creating support groups and handling outreach databases.

Nadia graduated with their Masters in Social Work from Hunter Silberman School of Social Work and their Bachelors in Arts from Cornell University. Nadia understands the importance of providing youth with the tools to feel empowered, heard and safe to explore, and move forward in their careers. In their free time, Nadia enjoys ceramics, painting, dancing, singing and going on impromptu adventures to explore places outside of the city.
