Jean Bucaria

Jean Bucaria joined Futures and Options in June 2022. As Program Manager, Employer Partnerships, she is responsible for cultivating and sustaining partnerships with a wide range of corporations, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies to provide transformative career development opportunities to New York City students. Prior to joining Futures and Options, Jean served as Deputy Director of the National Organization for Women–New York City for almost 15 years. There, she co-founded the Activist Alliance, a training program to build diverse women’s leadership. She oversaw the creation and funding of an intensive writing workshop for survivors of gender-based violence, and she built advocacy and volunteer programs and opportunities from the ground up. Throughout her time at the National Organization for Women, she contributed to all aspects of the organization’s activities, including managing large campaigns and projects, identifying and building strategic partnerships, developing and delivering training on civic engagement and other issues, and working with diverse stakeholders—from student volunteers to elected officials.

Jean is a first-generation college graduate from Stony Brook University, earning a B.S. in Biochemistry. She went on to complete a Master’s of Public Administration at the Marxe School of Public & International Affairs at Baruch College. She is excited to continue to pursue her passion for social justice and commitment to equity in education, through her work at Futures and Options.
