Goldman Sachs Hosts Career Day
On May 27th, Futures and Options partnered with Goldman Sachs to host a career day for Lower Manhattan high school students. Goldman Sachs professionals from the Investment Management, Equities, Human Resources, Technology, Compliance, and Operations divisions, spent the day teaching students about the various career options in financial services.
Mock Interviewing at Goldman Sachs. From Far Left: David Slama, Goldman Sachs, with Jeffrey Luk, Futures and Options intern, Kevin Jin, Stuyvesant High School student, Tai Huynh, High School of Economics and Finance student and Charles Bagley, Stuyvesant High School student.
The program included an introduction to Goldman Sachs, a career panel on professional best practices and soft skills, speed networking, mock interviews, and a tour of 200 West Street, the new Goldman Sachs headquarters, which is a state-of-the-art green space in Lower Manhattan. Twenty two high school juniors and seniors participated in the event, including Futures and Options interns interested in careers in financial services, and students recruited from Stuyvesant High School and the High School of Economics and Finance.
This event was one of many sponsored by the Community Team Works Team at Goldman Sachs, and is an example of how Goldman Sachs strives to be a good corporate citizen through neighborhood partnerships and support of youth education and career exposure. It was also an opportunity for Futures and Options to showcase the caliber of our interns, and our interest in creative partnerships that provide career exposure to highly motivated, underserved youth in New York City.
Our thanks to Chanel Dennis and the Goldman Sachs CTW team, as well as our educational partners from Lower Manhattan, for creating this exciting opportunity. We appreciate your support in helping to make this event a great success!
