Capital One Gives Back Through "One Week"

On May 17th and 19th, 14 associates from Capital One volunteered with our spring Pre-Internship Program during the bank's "One Week," a company-wide volunteer initiative designed to help meet the needs of local communities where associates live and work.

Pre-Internship Program participants with Capital One volunteers from left to right: Sanjay Mukhi, George Sterling, Jacob Danielski, Marrian Mikail and Donald Damron.

A panel of volunteers spoke at two career development workshops about their positions at the bank and shared stories about their career journeys.  The panelists represented a range of positions within the bank, from lead teller and branch manager, to assistant vice president of private banking and market president.

Following the panel presentations, the volunteers taught students how to give a professional greeting, mock interviewed the students, shared interview tips, helped the students learn the dos and don'ts of workplace etiquette, and practiced telephone greetings.

We are tremendously grateful to the Capital One volunteers for their generous donation of time and talent to our youth.
