Who are the interns?
Motivated, talented New York City high school juniors and seniors.
When do they work?
25-40 hours per week for 6 weeks during the summer, July through August.
How much does an internship cost?
Interns are paid a minimum $7.50 per hour.
What types of tasks do the interns perform during their internship?
Futures and Options staff will work with you to develop a job description designed to benefit both your business and your interns. Interns typically handle projects or administrative duties – filing, answering phones, online research, data entry, spreadsheet and database maintenance, etc.
How does Futures and Options support the intern?
Interns attend ongoing work readiness and career exploration workshops led by the Futures and Options program team. We communicate with the student throughout the internship and have an open door policy – our staff are always available to guide, mentor, answer questions and help the students tackle the challenges of a real world work experience.
How does Futures and Options support the internship site?
Futures and Options staff provide candidate pre-screening, employer orientation, ongoing communication with the supervisor, mid-internship site visits and payroll processing, if needed.

Based on your conversation, the program team will scour our student pipeline to find candidates they believe are the best fit for your business. Your team will have the opportunity to review candidate resumes, interview each individually and make the ultimate hiring decision!
