Oustanding Nonprofit Award



Futures and Options – a Youth INC partner since 2008 – reached more than 800 NYC youth, with 300 paid, mentored interns in summer 2016.

New York, NYJune 30, 2016 – Futures and Options received the Youth INC 2016 Award for Outstanding Nonprofit Partner at Youth INC's 9th Annual State of the Market Conference held on June 22, 2016, at the Metropolitan Club.

Mark Pedretti, a partner and Head of the Private Equity Group at Reed Smith and Board Member of Youth INC since 2013, presented this award to Futures and Options Executive Director, Patty Machir. Reed Smith was Presenting Sponsor of the event, which brings the business community together to help more than 60 nonprofits and 300,000 children from underserved communities in New York City.

Futures and Options empowers New York City's underserved youth to explore careers and guides them to further their education and become productive citizens. By providing career development workshops and paid mentored internships, Futures and Options opens doors for young New Yorkers who need and deserve the opportunity to learn about potential career paths.

In 2008, Futures and Options joined the Youth INC Partner Network and quickly advanced through the signature Celebration Program, raising more than $390,000 over three years.

"Youth INC was Futures and Options' catalyst for growth. Their programs gave our staff and our Board the tools and skills to grow into a confident, effective and sustainable nonprofit," said Patty Machir.

The Outstanding Nonprofit Partner Award highlights the success and programmatic growth Futures and Options has achieved since joining Youth INC.  The organization, with a projected $2,100,000 in revenue and a staff of 14, reaches over 800 teens a year and partners with more than 200 businesses.
