Futures and Options is proud to announce that our new website is officially launched! We are excited to share our new site with all of you so please take a few minutes to explore it!
We especially want to express our thanks to The Fund for the City of New York for providing the support and expertise needed to create this new site: our kudos go to Kathryn Weinstein, graphic designer, and Chris Snyder, director, Center for Internet Innovation, as well as Edison Calle, software engineer. On the Futures and Options team, we are deeply grateful to Serena Handley, external affairs manager, for her diligent oversight of the design and content development for the site. Thanks to this impressive group of people, Futures and Options now has a dynamic, state-of-the-art website.
Please keep up-to-date with our activities and events, find resources and apply to our programs by regularly visiting our website.

From left to right: Lashawn Pollock, pre-intern, Nicole Pivnick, Sr. Business Manager, Capital One Bank, Shawn Coles, pre-intern, and Andrea Works, pre-intern.
At the April 13th and 15th Career Exploration workshops, our Pre-Internship Program welcomed 17 associates from Capital One, who were volunteers in the bank’s “One Week” Initiative. “Capital One's 'One Week' program is a company-wide volunteer initiative aimed at bringing Capital One associates and local nonprofit organizations together to make a difference in our community through volunteerism.”
At the workshops, a panel of volunteers spoke about their positions at the bank and shared stories about their career journeys. The teens heard about what it is like to be a teller, a relationship banker, and a branch manager. Following the panel presentations, the volunteers worked with small groups of teens who were assigned the challenge of developing a business plan to build a community center. Each group selected who would act as business manager, financial manager, operations manager, and marketing/communications director. After designing the community center plans, each group presented them to the Futures and Options team of judges.
We are tremendously grateful to the Capital One volunteers for their generous donation of time and talent to our youth.
