ALUMNI PROGRESS
Alumni are very important to Futures and Options Inc. Their success completes and confirms our mission of connecting urban youth to careers. As 95 percent of FAO alumni go on to college and to productive careers, we maintain a database on our alumni for tracking and evaluation purposes.
After college...FAO alumni have landed full-time jobs at Citigroup, Lehman Brothers, L'Oreal, Standard and Poor's, Morgan Stanley, Lutz & Carr CPA's LLP, LG Reality Solutions, State Senator Suzi Oppenheimer's office, IBM, Samuel A. Ramirez & Co., PricewaterhouseCoopers, Smith Barney, and Bank of New York... And with a pool of entry-level workers with experience at major companies, the business world is profiting from investing in their own future!
The Municipal Forum of New York Inc. awards $1,000 scholarships to alumni of their partnership program with FAO (Urban Leadership Fellows Program) who complete their freshman, sophomore or junior year in college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. In 2004, 34 alumni qualified. In 2005, 46 alumni qualified. In addition, a $1,500 Community Service Award is given for the best essay on community service done during the first three years of college.
